Voices are rising against fake police encounters in Punjab

Although the Punjab Police is recently calling the killing of three youths from Gurdaspur district in Pilibhit as militants belonging to the Khalistan Zindabad Force a major achievement, ruling party MLA Manvinder Singh Giaspura has called the police encounter suspicious and demanded an investigation into the matter.

Giaspura has written a letter to Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan raising questions about the police encounter. This letter from Giaspura has raised big questions for the state government and the Punjab Police. Although organizations fighting for human rights were already accusing the youths of being killed in a false police encounter. It is also worth mentioning here that the Home Department is with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, which is directly raising questions about the Chief Minister’s performance.

In a letter to the Speaker, Payal MLA Manvinder Singh Giaspura said that you (Speaker) are the custodian of the Vidhan Sabha, if the youth of Punjab are killed in another state by showing a fake police encounter like this, then it is right to raise your voice. He has demanded that the Speaker write a letter to the UP government for a high-level investigation. He said that if any culprit comes to light during the investigation, strict action should be taken against him.

The letter written by Giaspura to the Speaker can become a big challenge for the state government because the family members of the youth and those fighting for human rights are already claiming that the youth have no connection with any militant organization. It is told here that Giaspura had also highlighted the case of Hound Chillar (Haryana) during the 1984 Sikh massacre.

Earlier, the party’s MLA from Amritsar and former police officer Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh has also been raising questions from time to time about not taking any action against the accused in the cases of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. Now Giaspura has created a big headache for the Punjab Police by calling the police encounter a fake one. It is worth mentioning that the police had claimed that Gurvinder Singh, Ravinder Singh and Jaspreet Singh were killed in a police encounter in Pilibhit the previous day.

Police claims vs Punjab’s disturbing film stories

The Punjab Police, which is an expert in fabricating film stories, is fabricating new film stories about the alliance between militants and gangsters in this regard. The police’s theory is also that in fact, militant organizations are giving money, drugs and jobs abroad to the drug addict youth of Punjab. In return for this greed, the youth are working to deliver weapons/explosives to the militants’ henchmen and to carry out explosions. Since last year, many youths have been arrested on charges of being involved in militant activities, most of whom were drug addicts or unemployed. Gurgaons sitting abroad are recruiting local youth in several border areas including Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Ferozepur to carry out their nefarious intentions

Dal Khalsa is leveling such allegations against Punjab Police. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav has recently claimed that five members of a Pakistan-ISI-backed militant module have been arrested, including Abhijot Singh, the mastermind behind the grenade attacks on police stations and outposts in Batala and Gurdaspur. According to the police, this module was being run by the Babbar Khalsa organization run by foreign-based Harpreet Singh Happy Pasia and Shamsher Honey.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav has claimed to have solved the case of eight incidents of attacks on police stations. He said that 14 accused belonging to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) have been arrested. Yadav, while sharing a video on social media, said, “We have foiled a new conspiracy of Pakistan’s ISI and militant groups to disrupt law and order in Punjab.”

He said that five militant modules are responsible for these eight blasts. They were carrying out this action on the basis of orders received by them from their leaders living in Pakistan, America, Canada and Europe. Grenades and RDX were used in the attacks. He said, “Out of these, three modules belong to BKI, while two belong to KZF. Two AK-47 rifles, five grenades, two Glock pistols and 1.04 kg heroin have been recovered from them. The DGP has appealed to the people to be aware of such conspiracies. The first attack took place on November 23 at Ajnala police station. A 1.5 kg IED was used for this attack. On November 29, a blast took place near a police post in Gurbaksh Nagar, Amritsar at 11 pm. On December 2, a blast took place at Ansaro post in Nawanshahr. On December 4, a grenade blast broke the windows of the police station in Majitha, Amritsar. Similarly, on December 13, an attack was carried out on Ghanian Ke Bangar police station in Batala. On December 17, the responsibility for the attack on Islamabad police station in Amritsar was taken by BKI’s Jeevan Singh Fauji. According to the DGP, the remaining four persons arrested have been identified as Kuljit Singh, Rohit Ghesi, Shubham and Gurjinder Singh Raja, all residents of Qila Lal Singh, Batala. Police teams have recovered one 9 mm and one .32 bore pistol from the possession of the accused.

The DGP said that when the accused Abhijot Singh and Kuljit Singh were taken for recovery, they attacked the police party to escape from custody, in response to which the police

S also fired in self-defense. During this, both the accused were shot.

He said that the accused have been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Batala, where their condition is said to be stable.

According to the police, the arrival of Khalistani Gurvinder Singh, Varinder and Jasanpreet, who were killed in an encounter recently, was planned. Kulbir Singh Sidhu, a militant of Babbar Khalsa with a reward of Rs 10 lakhs, who is sitting in London, had been continuously helping the three of them over the phone. According to the investigation, Sidhu of Khalsa International, who is sitting in London, had called Jaspal on December 20 and got the three militants a room in the hotel. He sent the fake Aadhaar cards of all the three militants to Jaspal’s WhatsApp number, which was used as ID. According to the police, Sidhu stayed at Arshdeep Singh’s house in Gajraula Japati village and some other places for nine months in 2021. He created a network there, after which he left. On April 13, he absconded after the murder of VHP leader Prabhakar in Punjab. The NIA has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh on him. He is a resident of Yamunanagar in Haryana. Sidhu had also made a transaction of Rs 10 lakh for the murder through Arshdeep. On Thursday, the police took Arshdeep into custody and started questioning him. SP Avinash Pandey said that an attempt will be made to take Jaspal on remand so that the situation of the militant network can be more clear. Last Thursday, the police had sent Jaspal to jail. Now, the youth who gave him shelter and found Sidhu’s roots is being questioned.
