Dal Khalsa and Akali Dal Amritsar stand firm in support of Bhai Chaura
Dal Khalsa and Akali Dal Amritsar have strongly opposed the demand made by the SGPC’s In-House Committee to Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Raghbir Singh for the expulsion of Narayan Singh Chaura, who attacked Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, from the Panth.
Dal Khalsa’s Kanwarpal Singh said that this is the first time in Sikh history that the SGPC’s In-House Committee, led by SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami, is giving wrong interpretations on the orders of the Akali Dal and this will further deepen the divisions within the community and create an atmosphere of mutual civil war. Khalsa said that SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami has tried to create a wrong narrative about the incident. He is saying that Bhai Narayan Singh Chaura has fired at the Darbar Sahib, which is baseless and baseless. He said that Bhai Chaura did not attack the Darbar Sahib, but a person who was serving a sentence. Narayan Singh Chaura is an educated, intelligent and determined person and the attack carried out by him is an expression of the anger of the Sikh community towards the Badals.
Khalsa said that the Shiromani Akali Dal is trying to give a new twist to the entire development. Before this, many attacks were carried out on Akali leaders during the Sikh movement. On 25 April 1983, IPS Avtar Singh Atwal was also attacked at the same place. There was never a demand that the attackers be expelled from the Panth. He said that instead of demanding the expulsion of Bhai Narayan Singh Chaura from the Panth, Sukhbir Singh Badal and his associates should be expelled from the Panth for forgiving Dera Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and accepting the incidents of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.
Kanwarpal Singh Khalsa said that the Akali Dal is again trying to fool the Sikh community. He appealed to the Singh Sahibs not to fall into the trap of the Akali Dal Badal which they have laid through the SGPC. Dal Khalsa and all the Panthic organizations are strongly opposing this and also appeal to all the Sikhs sitting in the country and abroad to strongly oppose this cowardly attempt of the Shiromani Akali Dal. Along with this, if a decision is made according to the narrative being created to expel Bhai Narayan Singh Chaura from the Panth, then his fate will also be like the pardon given to Gurmeet Ram Rahim. When asked about firing on a person who was doing service, Kanwarpal Singh Khalsa said that Sukhbir Singh Badal is not doing service but is serving punishment. He himself did not admit his mistake but the community has dragged him and brought him to Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Dal Khalsa General Secretary Paramjit Singh Mand said that he will meet Jathedar Gian Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib on December 18 to register his protest against the demand of the Akali Dal-backed Ending Committee to expel Bhai Narayan Singh Chaura from the Panth. Along with this, it will be demanded that the Akali Dal should stay away from the pressure to maintain the glory of Sri Akal Takht that has been restored by them. Senior Dal Khalsa leaders Harpal Singh Cheema, Harcharanjit Singh Dhami, Paramjit Singh Tanda, Gurnam Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Jagjit Singh, Sarj Singh were also present on this occasion.
