The Punjab Police has been receiving mixed reactions on the various approaches taken to disperse the protest, but while the farmers were being chased away, they were not even given time to collect their belongings, rather the farmers’ belongings were looted in a manner similar to how kings in ancient history used to loot the subjects of the opposing king after attacking their opponents. Although these orders have been given to the police by the state government at the behest of the central government, this incident is likely to further highlight the already anti-people image of the Punjab Police. The farmers’ food, clothing, electrical appliances including fans, coolers, washing machines, and ACs have all been taken away. Eyewitnesses are reporting that the farmers’ belongings were taken away by masked men. The same journalists have also reported about a policeman carrying a gas cylinder that while carrying the cylinder, the policeman said, “Let’s go, it will be useful in the police station.” It was being told that some people with their faces covered were also pulling trolleys from there, some of which were thrown into the fields, some in the fields, and the tents of the farmers along with their belongings were destroyed by using JBC machines. So this ugly incident points to the very dangerous times to come. More than three thousand policemen were deployed to chase away five to seven hundred farmers, so that no problem would be faced in carrying out this operation. The thing to think about here is that what was the trouble of the Punjab government with the farmers who had been peacefully protesting against the central government for a long time, that strict action was taken without informing the farmers. Although the police are claiming that no atrocities were committed against any farmer nor was force used against the farmers, rather they were taken to safe places as per their wishes, on the other hand, the journalists present at the spot have buried the above scene and released the pictures of the scene, in which elderly farmers can be seen carrying bundles of clothes on their heads and stumbling on foot in the darkness of the midnight. Will such actions against the farmers not be responsible for pushing the reputation of the Punjab government to the margins? This question will be on the lips of every intelligent Punjabi today. It is also true that every section of Punjab is already very angry with the current state government of the Aam Aadmi Party. Is the state government unaware that with this action, the government may have to face further fierce opposition from the farmers. Or has the government become so arrogant that it will not allow the farmers’ movement to succeed in any way on the land of Punjab, but will not even allow the farmers to raise their heads. That is, it has made up its mind to crush it in the initial stage itself, which may not be possible. Even if the government is clear about the above, the coming time will be like walking barefoot on thorny paths for the Aam Aadmi Party. The year 2027 seems to be approaching quickly, but at such a time, the government’s enmity with the farmers may become the backbone of the Aam Aadmi Party. It is a risky task. The Aam Aadmi Party, which has already lost power in Delhi, has nothing else to do except take power in Punjab. This party already had no base in the rest of the country. It is also true that the Aam Aadmi Party exists only because of Punjab. If Punjab also goes out of hand, then this party is bound to fall in its infancy, which no one will be able to stop. In such a critical period, unnecessarily accepting the discontent of the leading class of farmers and laborers of Punjab is not a sign of a good ruler, rather this action gives a clearer picture of the incompetence of the Bhagwant Mann government. From this phenomenon, it seems as if the Bhagwant Mann government of the Aam Aadmi Party is working to make a record of becoming the first government to do so, which no other government of Punjab has been able to do in the last 77 years. It is also true that the governments formed in Punjab after independence could not play a pro-Punjab role, rather they blindly accepted every order of the Center for the benefit of their families and the safety of their government, which was issued from time to time by the Center for the destruction of Punjab, whether it was the order to leave the management of electricity, water, dams or tampering with Sikh principles. The then leaders of the Congress and Akali Dal have been fully responsible for all of them, who, while ruling Punjab, In their deals with the Centre, the interests of Punjab have been literally being sold off for a pittance. It is also true that the current government seems to be moving forward with a vengeance to dwarf the heinous deeds of all the above-mentioned state governments. For a long time, the people of Punjab will remember the bad tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party government as a very critical period.
