Harjot Singh alias Jyot Dhanoa in the police custody

Harjot Singh, son of the late Barinder Singh Dhanoa, a righteous soldier who left his barracks to protest the atrocities committed by the then government against the Sikh community, is in the police custody. It is worth mentioning that Harjot Singh alias Jyot Dhanoa was imprisoned after false cases were filed against him and a large part of his property was lost in the long court proceedings. Despite the fact that the elder brother went abroad due to repeated police torture and is living there as a laborer, the police are continuously questioning relatives and villagers about Harjot Singh, who is now on bail and has gone abroad through his own resources.

It is worth noting here that Harjot Singh alias Jyot Dhanoa has been booked under UAPA and other stringent sections in other cases including the Nabha jail break incident along with the former Liberation Force chief late Shaheed Bhai Harminder Singh Mintoo. Harjot’s family has already been raising its voice against the atrocities being committed against the sect and his father, the late Dharmi Fauji Barinder Singh, had also spent most of his life in various jails of the country, due to which this family is already in the eyes of the police. Therefore, if Harjot Singh alias Jyot Dhanoa returns to India, he can be imprisoned again, whereas he has already spent precious years of his life in jail under false cases.
