Congress needs to understand the saffron party’s intentions behind Sant Bhindranwale picture controversy

Last week, some Sikh youth from Punjab who were going to Manikaran Gurdwara Sahib in Himachal Pradesh got into a fight in Kullu. The root of this fight is a local saffron activist named Aman Sood, who accused these youth of creating a ruckus and also forcibly snatched the flag with the photo of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale from their motorcycle, trampled it under his feet and threatened them. Due to this, the whole matter got worse. People on social media say that BJP does not want to let Congress rule anywhere. That is why it wants to win all over India by raising communal tension in their states.
Hotel owner Aman Sood has been summoned for disturbing public peace and religious harmony in the dispute that took place in Manikaran Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Following a complaint filed by the state government, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) court has initiated proceedings against Aman Sood. The summons has clarified that if he does not appear in court on time, legal action will be taken against him.
It may be recalled that a dispute had started in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh due to Aman Sood. The Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib expressed strong displeasure over this and demanded appropriate action from the Himachal Pradesh government against the communal saffron activists who were trampling the Sikh flag. After the video of the flag with the picture of Sant Bhindranwale being snatched went viral, some youths who claimed to be Dal Khalsa activists pasted posters of Sant Bhindranwale on Himachal buses in Hoshiarpur.
After this dispute, incidents of attacks on Himachal Pradesh Roadways buses have come to light in Punjab. A Himachal Roadways bus was attacked in Kharar, in which the windows of the bus were broken. Three Himachal Roadways buses were vandalized in Amritsar last Friday night. Unknown persons broke the windows of the buses and wrote Khalistan on the buses. The police have registered a case against the unknown persons and started an investigation. The Rambagh police station has detained four youths on charges of vandalizing four buses of Himachal Pradesh and writing Khalistan slogans on them. It is being said that the police have detained the close relatives of the accused so that pressure can be put on the absconding accused to surrender.
The question is who are the elements who want to increase communal tension by creating violent tension. The Congress believes that the BJP is promoting communalism.
In further reaction to these incidents, people associated with a saffron outfit in Shimla recently put up pictures of Bharat Mata on PRTC buses and staged a protest.
Following these incidents, Sikh organisations have threatened to stage protests and sit-ins on the Himachal-Punjab border, prompting the police of both states to tighten security.
Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that HRTC buses will not be allowed to stop in Punjab at night until the Punjab government ensures adequate security for Himachal buses.
Under this, 20 routes of buses stopping in Punjab at night have been temporarily closed.
Meanwhile, Punjab Police says that a case has been registered and investigation is underway in the Amritsar vandalism case and the accused involved in the attack in Kharar have been arrested. The accused arrested by Punjab Police have been identified as Gagandeep Singh, a resident of Muktsar Sahib, and Hardeep Singh, a resident of Ropar.
Dal Khalsa leader Bhai Kanwarpal Singh Bittu, while speaking, expressed his protest over the incident of removing the picture of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale from the vehicles of Punjabi youth in Himachal Pradesh, but termed the attacks on Himachal Roadways buses as unfortunate. He said, “The attacks on Himachal Roadways buses in Kharar and Amritsar were the actions of mischievous elements and such incidents divert attention from the real issue. They say that any such violent action is not appropriate, common people and passengers should not be a cause of trouble. They demand that all the cases registered by the Himachal government be withdrawn and the leaders of Himachal Pradesh should apologize to the Sikhs for the statements made for political gain.
Home Minister Amit Shah troubled by the rise of Sant Bhindranwale
In Punjab too, some people wanted to become Bhindranwale but the government did not allow them to move forward
* Amit Shah calls Baba Banta Singh gave a retort, debate erupted on social media
Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said in his address in the Rajya Sabha last Friday that some people in Punjab also wanted to become Bhindranwale but the government did not allow them to move forward and today they are in jail in Assam, although our government is not there, but it was the firm intention of the Home Ministry that they are currently behind bars and reciting Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Assam jail. After which this statement was strongly opposed in Punjab. Amit Shah’s reference was towards Bhai Amritpal Singh and the warning was to the active Panthic parties of Punjab.
Jathedar Akal Takht Sahib has condemned the Home Minister’s statement. It was said that Sikhs chant Gurbani even by climbing on spinning wheels. This is a sign of Charddi Kala.
Preacher Baba Banta Singh had said in response to this during the Katha that last dayThe statement made by Union Minister Amit Shah should not be made against the Khalsa Panth. He said that neither reciting Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is a bad thing nor is it a bad thing to imitate Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. Such statements are not befitting while sitting in a high position. Baba Banta Singh had said that these are our heroes and you should not call them villains, we do not call those who are heroes of Hindus as villains, but stop belittling our heroes. Such statements may get the votes of Hindu heroes in 2027, but this will not lead to communal harmony.
