Modi government will not grant statehood to Jammu and Kashmir yet
The central government has once again postponed the issue of granting full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. The information given by the government about the proposed legislative work after the all-party meeting called by the government before the beginning of the winter session of Parliament did not include the issue of granting statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, but it was said then that it can be included later. At that time, the issue of ‘one nation, one election’ was also not in the proposed agenda, but it was presented in Parliament but the proposal to grant statehood to Jammu and Kashmir was not brought.
Union Minister and Jammu and Kashmir MP Jitendra Singh clarified in this matter that the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir will be restored at the right time and this promise has been made directly by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now the question is whether there is any time limit to fulfill the promise? The question is also when the right time will come? The state assembly elections were held, the government was formed, the elected government passed a resolution in the assembly to restore statehood, the Lieutenant Governor also approved it, yet the right time has not come for the central government. The government had also conducted elections there on the directions of the Supreme Court, now it seems that the Supreme Court’s directions will be awaited to grant it statehood.
